PAST/BIO (what they've been doing the past 20 years for Canon characters): Alicia was born to her mother, Cara, and Cara's boyfriend at the time. For the first year of her life they succeeded in playing happy family, but soon her father left them alone together. Alicia spent a lot of time being looked after by her grandfather, as her mother was a Slayer.
Over the years, Cara developed a friendship with Christy Kennedy, who was the only person close to her that knew she was a Slayer. So when Cara was killed, six-year old Alicia was parcelled around various foster homes until Christy and Owen adopted her just before her seventh birthday.
It was possibly the best environment to grow up in, and being welcomed into a family that was far from normal but still very loving was a welcome change from the disrupted family Alicia had experienced in her early years. A year younger than Evan and a year older than Hope, she slotted nicely into the gap that the McCabe family made for her. She was bookmarked as a potential Slayer due to her mother being a Slayer, and then growing up in the McCabe house it became clear that the teenager would have the skills to become a Slayer. She never properly became a Slayer, but has found the skills useful in her life.
Until the final apocalypse came, and the three of them were separated from Owen and Christy. They are currently trying to reunite with them, in the hope that they're still alive.
