PAST/BIO (what they've been doing the past 20 years for Canon characters): at thirty-two years of age, Marlena often thinks that she should have done more in life. Her success isn't as much as she'd originally hoped, and only being a low-level CIA agent wasn't ever the high places she'd wanted when she graduated college.
Of course, real life had intervened with her career and ambition. Setback after setback meant that Marlena was always constantly held back by other commitments which lead to a massive family argument about five years ago. Since then she's been a little quieter and easily more career-driven, especially since she isn't (in her mind) a mother any more. Her eight year-old child lives with her family and she hasn't heard from them since.
Excellent with a gun and her mind, she was called into service for the Templar and is now in Seattle on their orders. She's fairly worried about the place but won't let her fear show.
